What is TapSafe?
TapSafe is a personal safety app that lets a user notify their trusted contacts during an emergency.
Why am I receiving messages?
A TapSafe user added your phone number as a trusted emergency contact. You will only receive messages if:
you opt in; and
that user activates an emergency alert or ends one.
TapSafe does not send marketing messages.
What messages will I receive?
If you opt in, you may receive the following types of SMS messages:
opt-in or confirmation messages when you are added as a contact;
emergency alert messages when the user activates an alert;
emergency ended messages when the user ends an alert; and
help or support messages if you text HELP.
Emergency alert messages may include:
the user’s name, if available;
a short emergency message; and
a live location link.
How do I opt in?
To opt in, tap the secure approval link in the TapSafe message you received and confirm.
Each approval is specific to the person who added you. If another TapSafe user adds you later, you will receive a separate request.
If you do not confirm, you will not receive emergency alerts.
How do I stop messages?
Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe this phone number from TapSafe Emergency Alerts. After you opt out, you may receive a final confirmation message confirming your opt-out.
How do I re-enable messages?
Reply START to re-enable messages where supported. In some cases, including some SMS-only contact relationships, the TapSafe user may need to send you a new confirmation request before alerts resume.

Message frequency
Message frequency varies depending on whether and how often a TapSafe user activates an emergency. TapSafe does not send recurring marketing messages.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.
Privacy
TapSafe uses your phone number and related messaging records only to deliver emergency-related messages, manage opt-in and opt-out status, maintain service integrity, prevent abuse, and comply with messaging-provider and legal requirements. TapSafe does not use this data for marketing.

Will TapSafe message me if there is no emergency?
No. After you opt in, you will only receive messages related to an emergency alert, an emergency ending, or HELP/STOP/START-related confirmations and support messages.
Do I need the TapSafe app?
No. You can receive TapSafe emergency SMS without installing the app.
Can multiple people add me?
Yes. Different TapSafe users may add you as a trusted contact. Each request is tied to that specific user’s emergency alerts.
Can I opt out with STOP?
Yes. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe this phone number from TapSafe Emergency Alerts.
What happens if I reply START?
Replying START may re-enable messages where supported. In some cases, the TapSafe user may need to send you a new confirmation request before alerts resume.
