Delete Your TapSafe Account

You can request deletion of your TapSafe account and associated data at any time.

We aim to complete most verified deletion requests within 7 days, and in all cases within 30 days unless a longer period is required by law.

How to request account deletion

In-app
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the confirmation flow.

Website
Visit the TapSafe account deletion page on https://tapsafe.app and submit a verified deletion request from your registered email address.

Email
Send your request from the email address linked to your TapSafe account to support@tapsafe.app with the subject line:
Delete my TapSafe account

What we delete
Once your request is verified, we will delete or erase, as applicable:

  • your TapSafe account and profile information;

  • your trusted contacts stored in TapSafe;

  • your active and ended emergency sessions, subject to any limited retention described below;

  • your stored location history associated with the Service;

  • your device and push token records associated with the deleted account; and

  • other account-linked app content stored by TapSafe.

What we may retain
We may retain limited records where necessary for:

  • fraud prevention;

  • security;

  • audit logging;

  • legal or regulatory compliance;

  • billing, tax, accounting, or dispute resolution obligations; or

  • the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

Purchase and subscription records may also remain with Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, or other payment or subscription providers under their own retention rules.

Important information
Account deletion is permanent and generally irreversible. After deletion, your previous TapSafe account data cannot be restored.

Deleting your TapSafe account does not automatically cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions. You must cancel your subscription separately through the relevant platform.

If an active emergency is running when we process your deletion request, we may end the emergency session as part of processing the deletion.

Messages previously delivered to your trusted contacts may remain in their inboxes or on their devices. TapSafe cannot delete messages from recipients’ phones.

Subscriptions
Apple App Store:
Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → TapSafe → Cancel

Google Play:
Play Store → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → TapSafe → Cancel

How you will know the deletion is complete
We will send a confirmation to the email address used for the verified deletion request once the deletion process is completed.

Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, or restriction relating to your personal data.
